Friday November 24 was a special day at school because the 42nd Carreira da Milagrosa was held. 42 editions! I think this competition has already become a classic in the Santiago City Council.
We were lucky with the weather, as after a month of continuous rain, it gave us a break. You couldn't ask for a better day for this competition: cold yes, but a radiant sun and dry ground, very important not to slip as happens in some unfortunate cases.
The races took place with the fervent support of the parents who came there and the students who were not competing at the time. There was a lot of excitement and in some cases the video had to be reviewed to be sure of the final positions.
After the race, the sixth graders held their typical "flea market" where they sell toys, books and other things they used to play with when they were younger at a modest price. In this way there is a recycling and the adults collect for the fund of the excursion. They say it was a great success! Congratulations!
At 12:00, the awards ceremony was held in a patio full to the brim, where the names of the prize winners and prize winners were chanted.
Monday the 27th was the day of our patron saint and we went to celebrate it at the church of San Fernando. The choir and the rondalla enlivened such a unique day and those present were able to enjoy their interpretations. Even a parishioner asked the artists the name of some of the songs!
In the Radio Faladoiro podcast, which comes out on the first Monday of each month, which you can find on the school's blog " O Recuncho de Mila ", some of the fifth grade students report on these special dates.
